Collide with the wild

at home 26 Dec 2022

It’s a new day

What once was deep soft soil is crisp and hard upon the ground

That crunch beneath your feet as you take the first steps amongst the frost.

Sharp clear air slides past your cheek and into your nose

It combines with the warmth inside

And for a moment they collide

both bringing balance to the other.

I smile

And for a while I too collide with the wild.
